Kemptville Live receives $45,000 in seed money to help promote event

The Kemptville Live Music Festival hopes additional seed money will help keep the festival affordable to everyone.

The Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund has granted $45,000 in a partially repayable loan to the festival. That money is earmarked to help get the word out to attract more people to the event.

The festival also received another $100,000 from the 2017 Celebrate Ontario program. While that money was previously announced, officials say it’s important to keep in mind that this year’s budget to cover costs is set at $700,000. The festival’s Director of Operations Karen Bedard says that the budget has increased because the festival has grown.

Bedard says they want to keep the festival affordable to residents and visitors. To do that, they need the support of sponsors that will jump on board.

You can find out more about the event running July 20th to 23rd by going to www.kemptvillelivemusicfestival.com.
