Girls. Inc. golf tournament coming to Prescott

The annual Cogeco Girls Inc. Golf Tournament is coming to Prescott.

On July 7th, for the 10th year in a row, Prescott Golf Club will be hosting a tournament fundraiser for Girls Inc. The event will have a 12:30 shotgun start and dinner will take place in the evening. Funds raised by the tournament will go to support programming for girls’ age 6 to 18 in the Leeds-Grenville area.

Entering the tournament will cost Prescott Golf Club non-members $100, which includes a cart rental. Club members receive the discounted rate of 50 dollars but their fee does not include a cart rental.

Girls Inc. provides workshops and programs for girls in the community that celebrate girls and women. The organization was created to deliver age-appropriate, gender specific programs addressing issues like; body image and portrayal of girls in the media, girls involvement in science, technology, engineering and math careers, self-defence, healthy relationships and the equal participation of women in politics. Programs are offered throughout the year by hosting them in school during the academic year and in the community when school is out. Girls Inc. is offering their Engineer IT workshops across Leeds-Grenville again this summer.

Girls Inc. stress that golfers, sponsors, and volunteers are all needed to make this day of fun a success. To register as a golfer, sponsor or volunteer contact the Girls Inc. office at 613-345-3295 or by emailing [email protected].
