The OPP are continuing their investigation in to a man that fled from them during an attempted traffic stop.
According to police yesterday at around 9:00pm an officer on their regular patrol in the Rideau Lakes Township saw a driver violate the Highway Traffic Act. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver fled. Police say they located the vehicle on County Road 29 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township shortly after and arrested the man without incident.
The OPP report the 40-year-old Brockville man now faces charges of flight from police, stunt driving, driving while under suspension, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. The accused has been released from custody pending a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.
Police add that the investigation is ongoing.
