Pedestrian fatality on CN Rail

UPDATE: Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP says a third teen was also walking on the bridge but wasn’t struck by the train. That teen is a 17-year-old from Montreal. The young man that was killed was a 16-year-old teen from Dorval. The other man who suffered minor injuries was a 15-year-old teen from South Glengarry.

Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP are continuing to look in to the death of a man on CN Railway.

On July 3rd around 8:00pm police say two male pedestrians were walking along part of the CN Railway Bridge by Celtic Lane in South Glengarry when they were struck by a VIA train. One man from South Glengarry was pronounced dead at the scene after receiving life threatening injuries. The other male, also from South Glengarry, received minor injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics.

Police say the railway was re-opened before midnight and that the investigation is ongoing.
