You might find a “Lock It or Lose It” tip sheet on your windshield this weekend.
The Grenville County OPP says that it will be sending auxiliary officers out to spread awareness about the importance of locking your vehicle. The OPP says officers will be checking for a number of things including that doors and windows are locked, and that valuables are out of sight.
If you’re vehicle is chosen, you’ll find a tip sheet on the windshield which will rate the condition of your vehicle when officers checked it.
The OPP says that over the last few months it has received a number of calls involving vehicles being entered into.
It’s hoping that the public campaign will remind residents the importance of locking their vehicle so they aren’t an easy target.
