The Seaway Valley’s Queen of Crime is coming to Prescott.
Maggie Wheeler, author of the popular ‘Lost Villages’ mystery novels, will be at St. Andrew’s Church on the corner of Dibble Street and Centre Street on November 12th at 2:00pm. While donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the hall rental, and contributions to the library, admission will be free. Sharon McKay with Friends of the Prescott library says they will also be setting up a 50/50 draw to help raise money.
Wheeler will be promoting her newest book, All My Worldly Goods, which has many of the same settings and themes as her previous novels. The Farran Mackenzie mysteries are set during the building of the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project of the 1950s. Her novels are a regional bestseller in Eastern Ontario and all four have been used in Ontario and Upstate New York to teach history and English.
