Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held at WDMH

The Winchester District Memorial Hospital recently held its annual Christmas Wish Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The event was celebrated in the Winchester District Memorial Hospital Lobby. The Christmas Wish Tree program allows residents to make a donation in memory, or in honour, of someone.

This year it had extra special meaning because it was renamed “The Judy Lannin Christmas Wish Tree”. Lannin was a kind-hearted and determined WDMH team member who started the program 20 years ago. A granite memorial stone was unveiled in her honour which is set to be placed at the foot of the tree in the roundabout at the front of the hospital. Judy’s family attended the event and said the staff at WDMH was like Judy’s second family.

Also performing at the event was the Seaway Valley singers.

All proceeds from the Wish Tree go to the Family Care Fund at WDMH.
