Police are reminding people to be safe around ice this winter after the death of a Tay Valley Township man.
Lanark County OPP says officers were called on Saturday night when a man didn’t return home on time from Bennett Lake.
The man had gone ice fishing on the lake with his ATV. His family saw a large hole on the ice and were concerned that he had fallen through. Lanark County OPP searched for the man with the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.
On Sunday, the OPP reported that the man’s body was recovered.
