Winchester District Memorial Hospital has finished counting the money raised by this year’s Christmas Wish Tree.
The 20th installment of the Christmas Wish Tree was lit in early December and the fundraiser brought in over $58,000. Managing Director Kristen Casselman says this year was extra special because they honoured the former staff member who started the program, Judy Lannin. According to hospital representatives the money has been given to the WDMH Foundation Family Care Fund.
The initiative, now formally known as the Judy Lannin Christmas Wish Tree, encourages gifts in honour of doctors, nurses, neighbours, veterans or loved ones who have passed away. Over the past twenty years more than $930,000 has been raised for the hospital foundation.
