The Town of Prescott has formally extended a line of credit to the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival.
Town CAO Pierre Mercier says the request is a requirement of the actors’ guild and must be in place in the unlikely event the company cannot pay their actors. Councillor Fraser Laschinger is confident they will be able to pay their actors this year and into the future, saying the festival makes it a top priority to do so.
Mayor Brett Todd added they do this before the festival every year.
