Brockvillle Police Services Warning Residents About Door to Door Sales

Brockville Police Services is reminding community members to be cautious of door-to-door sales.

The warning was prompted after officers with Brockville Police were called by a community member that said two men, who said they were with an Energy Sales Company, asked to see their thermostat.

Police are reminding you to always be cautious of door to door sales, suggesting you ask for identification and proof they work for the company they claim to represent. Residents should also remember there is a 10 day cooling off period in the province that allows a contract to be cancelled for any reason.

The City of Brockville has a by-law that requires sales person to tell the city they are operating and the province has banned many types of door-to-door sales as of March 1st.
