The Town of Prescott’s Recreation Master Plan has formally been adopted.
During a council meeting this week councillors all voted in favour of using the plan to steer decision making within the town on matters of recreation in the future. Councillor Lee McConnell and Mayor Brett Todd both pointed out how some infrastructure, like the arena, is used frequently by people who don’t live in Prescott proper. Mayor Todd added the full expense of these infrastructure projects is not something the town can, or should have to, fund on their own.
Councillor Leanne Burton says they reached out to stakeholders in the community to form the plan, which focuses on long term visions and goals for Prescott. Mayor Todd says they plan to approach the Township of Augusta for further discussion about cost sharing.
