The City of Brockville’s compost site opens to the public today.
The site can be found at the Gord Watts Municipal Centre and is open from 2:00 to 7:00pm during the week, as well as 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturdays. Leaves and soft stemmed plants are accepted for free but grass clippings and weeds will not be taken. Brush is also accepted for a fee; the amount depends on the size of the vehicle and can range from $3 to $20.
According to the city residents are entitled to two wheelbarrow sized loads of Grade AA Compost every year for free.
