The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is reminding parents their children could qualify for a cheap summer camp experience.
Community members who are on Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program or rent-geared-to-income tenants may qualify for subsidised summer camps through the United Counties. According to the counties children can get up to ten days of subsidised camp but families receiving the Child Care Fee Subsidy are not eligible. Children must be younger than 12 to qualify and parents are responsible for finding a suitable summer camp, as well as supplying transportation.
Families that receive Ontario Works or rent-geared-to-income can contact their Case Manager to apply. Those on ODSP can reach out to Community and Social Services. More details about the subsidy can be found here.
