The Prescott Business Improvement Area (BIA) has reached out to council for support. The BIA wants to apply for some dollars from the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP). Chair Sandra Lawn presented a report titled ‘Moving Forward with Prescott Downtown’ to council on Monday night. Lawn says the BIA and town have to work together.
The BIA is seeking an agreement in principle from the town for the collaborative approach in their 2018 action plan for the downtown rejuvenation. The grant dollars would help pay for signage, facade and ground level improvements and painting of the cornices. Lawn says the BIA is taking proactive steps.
The grant application is due June 30. The matter will be brought back to council on Monday for the final vote.
