The Brockville General Hospital (BGH) will get $1,267,151 this year through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund. The announcement was made by Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark on Friday.
Clark says the health and safety of patients and their families is a priority for the provincial government. He says BGH is a cherished and vital institution in the community and the dollars will help ensure continued excellent quality care.
The funding will be used to replace, repair or update ageing infrastructure at the hospital’s Charles Street site. Projects include modernizing the elevator system and replacing outdated heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
BGH President and CEO Nick Vlacholias says patients can also expect to see upgrades to the nurse call system at their bedsides. Â
