Frank’s Soccer Training Academy Hopeful For Return To Field This Summer

A soccer academy in Leeds-Grenville is hopeful it will be able to take to the field this summer.

It’s been a trying year for Frank’s Soccer Training Academy, as it’s tried to navigate through the pandemic, but according to its owner, they’re ready to get back to developing players.

Founder Frank Onasanya says they’ve been developing local soccer talent since 2002, and they look forward to continuing doing that.

“We are not here to compete with any other soccer club or academy,” Onasanya said. “We are here to provide options and give kids the ability to achieve what they look to achieve in their chosen sport, which is soccer.”

Last year, COVID-19 caused the academy to adjust to smaller class sizes.

Onasanya says that experience has given them confidence that they can follow whatever health guidelines are thrown their way.

The academy accepts players ages 4-through-17, and Onasanya says anyone who joins will be welcomed with open arms.

“You will get to experience a family-environment,” he said. “Our training is focused and built upon players being able to feel like they’re at home. We treat every single player, regardless of age, as a family.”

The academy has also had tremendous success in recent years.

In the last five years, it has had four players recruited into the University level, and they have a couple more prospects in the pipeline.

Registration for the season is now open, and more information can be found on their website.
