Burn permits for people living in Augusta through 2022 are now available.
The Township says all open air fires throughout the year, including agricultural burns, will require a permit. Anyone planning a fire is also being asked to call the town’s Open Burning Hotline on the day they plan to burn, to make sure it’s safe that day. Your burn permit will have details on how to call the hotline.
Anyone who owns land in the Township is able to request their burn permit online. If you live in an apartment or other living area you don’t actually own, the Township says the property owner will have to request a burn permit on your behalf.
Right now, burn permits for 2022 are free. We’ve reached out to Augusta Fire Services to learn if this may change in the future. Visit the Augusta Township Facebook page for details on how to get one.
