The Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op could see three Leeds Grenville energy projects fall apart. The co-op has to prove interest by having Leeds Grenville residents become members of the co-op by the end of the month. The last meeting attracted seven new members, but another nine are needed. OREC Communications Associate David Mazur-Goulet says if they don’t see enough interested parties in the United Counties, all three projects could be in jeopardy.
Mazur-Goulet says you only have to become a member of the co-op to show interest. No investment in the actual projects is necessary. The proposed projects are near Kemptville, Spencerville and Oxford Station. A meeting will be held on Saturday. Visit orec.ca/kemptville to RSVP.
