During budget talks at Committee of the Whole last night, Mayor Brett Todd said council members need to look at options concerning the Forwarders’ Museum, and specifically the building itself.
The motion was backed by councillor Lee McConnell who noted that it was not wise to continue fixing the building without having a plan for its future use.
Options could range from fixing the building to leaving the current location and relocating all together. Councillors made it clear that the closure of the museum was not being considered at this time.
Mayor Todd said the use of the building needs to be reassessed, with the museum only being open for a few months out of the year.
A report on the building is set to come back to council in the coming weeks.
