Leeds-Grenville MP Gord Brown has commended the International Joint Commission’s Plan 2014 for water level regulation in the Upper St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario.
Brown says it has been 20 years since water levels became an issue in the Thousand Islands area.
Plan 2014 will alleviate extremely high and extremely low water levels in marinas, which will allow for more water in the fall for boat haul out and an extended season.
Plan 2014 will take effect in January 2017.
