Local Communities Receiving Provincial Kick Back From Gas Tax

The province is giving some local communities thousands in provincial gas tax funding.

The province says Lanark County will be getting over $346,000 in 2016 and 2017, while Brockville will receive over $213,000, and North, East, and West Perth will each get about $75,000.

Municipalities get two cents for every litre of provincial gas tax revenues through the program.

It’s part of the province’s goal to improve public transit, reduce congestion, and make sure people get to where they’re going faster.
