After months of discussions, an agreement between Prescott and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal has been reached over the amount of water Prescott is willing to sell the township, and how much Edwardsburgh-Cardinal is going to pay.
Prescott will be selling 6,000 cubic meters of water per month to the township, which is the same amount as last year.
It’s going to cost Edwardsburgh-Cardinal $562,988, as well as an additional $7,927 to cover engineering costs needed to move the water to the community.
Mayor Brett Todd has said that Prescott needs to keep its own interests in mind before selling any excess water to the neighbouring community.
