Details outlining a recreation master plan for Prescott have surfaced out of Committee of the Whole.
The plan will address long term maintenance and care of sports fields and recreational areas in town, and will look to find ways to manage costs more effectively. The town is concerned that they are excessively maintaining fields when teams could be using fields maintained by the schools as well.
With many areas around town needing immediate attention like the arena and Kriska ball fields, Chief Administrative Officer for the town, Pierre Mercier, says residents will see upgrades as soon as this upcoming season.
The plan will look to address the town’s recreational needs for the next five years. The plan is expected to be fully released sometime in the spring.
