Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP officers are reporting that more people were charged with impaired driving compared to last year during their annual Festive Ride Campaign.
Police say that the number of checks were up from 155 in 2015 to 213 for this past campaign. Eleven drivers were charged with impaired driving this past year, whereas only five were charged a year ago. Four people were also in the warning range and had their driving permit suspended.
Police remind drivers not to drink and drive and will continue to run RIDE checks throughout the year.
