A new program called Fast Track has been launched at Brockville General Hospital’s emergency department which will reduce wait times and provide better patient care.
When patients arrive to the emergency department, they will be interviewed by a triage nurse who will determine if the patient is of high or low priority. Resources at the hospital will then be distributed based on immediacy.
The Fast Track program will be open seven days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
Over 25,000 patients come into Brockville General Hospital’s emergency department every year, with 28% being low priority.
