Public Input Sought On New Fire Hall Design

The Town of Prescott is asking for the public’s opinion on the appearance of the proposed new fire hall.

A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 30th at 6:30pm to hear feedback on the exterior of the building. The meeting will take place at the fire hall on Centre Street.

Mayor Brett Todd says the town is fairly locked into the plan, which will only allow for changes to the outside of the building.

The decision was made to receive public input after an overwhelming amount of input on social media. Many council members also took exception to the exterior design of the building, believing it was not in line with the traditional aesthetic of the town.

Original plans called for panelling on the front and sides of the new fire hall, but images redesigned with a stone facade – which is the new proposed look – can be seen below.
