Rural communities in Ontario can boost their economic growth by applying for provincial funding.
The province says it will be funding projects ranging from downtown revitalization plans to tourism-related marketing through its Rural Economic Development program.
The province will invest $5-million into these projects each year.
In 2016, the town of Prescott took advantage of this, receiving about $35,000 to undertake a Business Retention and Expansion project to encourage local business growth.
