MPP Steve Clark has called on trustees to suspend the accommodation review at the Upper Canada District School Board.
Clark made a presentation to trustees at the second night of delegations in the accommodation review process yesterday. Clark says that, as a province, there has to be a discussion about rural education and small schools.
After Clark’s presentation Trustee 2nd Vice-Chair David McDonald said it was the Ontario PC Party that caused the funding issue.
Clark responded that closing schools isn’t the answer, but an all-party committee is.
Clark finished by saying a motion would be tabled on Tuesday by the Ontario PC Party Leader Patrick Brown to request a moratorium on rural school closures. That motion would come with a two hour debate on the issue.
