Gananoque resident Clare Morris has been given the Leading Women Building Communities award.
The award is used to celebrate the contributions women and girls across Ontario make to improve the lives of others.
Morris, who was given the award for her pioneering work in the field of engineering, explains how she found her career.
Morris encourages more women to join the engineering field, and says one of the biggest struggles she encountered in her early days as an engineer was being surrounded by men and the only women at the table during meetings.
