Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark wants clarification on whether or not a 20 year old environmental assessment for a possible landfill site is still valid.
Clark says he’s asked the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Glen Murray to weigh-in on the matter from a legal perspective.
Clark says he has some of the same concerns that some citizens have voiced.
The environmental assessment for ED-19 on Byers Road was granted more than 20 years ago. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Council is also seeking answers from the ministry before it decides whether or not to continue discussions about selling the property to turn it into a landfill.
