Higher turnout than expected at North Grenville Blood Donor Clinic

The blood donor clinic in honour of seven-year-old Abigail Hosick in North Grenville received more donations than expected.

Yesterday’s event brought in about 105 donations and more than 125 attendees over the course of the afternoon and evening.

Hosick is fighting Precursor B Lymphoblastic Lymphoma and has received blood transfusions at CHEO.

The next clinic is on May 22nd which falls on Victoria Day.

Territory Manager Mary Ann St. Michael says they need donors to step up on holidays more than at any other time of the year.

St. Michael says some parts of the blood have a short lifespan and the inventory needs to be replenished around those days when they get less donations.

You can book your appointment for May 22nd at www.blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2-donate.
